First time
I've recently signed up because I've heard that forums can help and im running out of options
I've been battling severe depression/anxiety for the past 6months
I feel like a completely different person
I feel like I've lost my personality, I can't remember things, I've lost desire to do anything at all
I feel like there is something wrong with my brain to the point where I have been getting MRI's & CT scans in hope something would show up
of course all the test come back normal
My Psychiatrist told me that I'm just depressed and has been playing with my medication as well
I feel like no one understand me
I feel like I'm going crazy
Has anyone on here experienced such bad depression where they don't feel like themselves?

Re: First time
Hi @Shine32 . Is this the first time you've found yourself suffering severe depression?
I can relate, yes - you lose all desire to do anything at all. It becomes a matter of just somehow getting through each dreadful day and endless night.
It sounds like a good thing you have a psychiatrist and medication, to help support you at this time.
If you want, you can type 'depression' into the search bar above to search for threads on it. Another handy tip is if you type @ and click on a member's name in the drop-down box, they will get a notification that you've replied to them.
Best wishes as you go through this awful thing. A lot of people here can relate.

Re: First time
Thank u @NatureLover
I appreciate the reply
I'm trying to research as much as I can to better understand because I'm hoping it will help me recover
it's been going on for 6 months and it's become debilitating
other then over sleeping not eating not wanting to socialise ect
I can't seem to find much information
my behaviour is unusual and that's why I feel I need to find answers or know someone is having any similar symptoms
I'm concerned because I can't actually think straight most of the time

Re: First time
@Shine32 I found the same, about not being able to think straight - the depression causes a brain fog.
I found something that helped me was taking multi-vitamin tablets, as I wasn't getting enough nutrition through food at that time.
Good luck with your research...

Re: First time
Welcome @Shine32
you are not alone in the way you are feeling...: I can relate to everything you have described.... I have the attention span of a goldfish.... people talk to me and nothing goes in.... I don't feel like me..... I have lost my smile... I have lost my enthusiasm.... I have lost my get up and go..... I have lost me....
If I was to be told I had a brain tumor I wouldn't be surprised.... something is wrong and I can't put my finger on it
i want to sleep... constantly (except at times like now when I should be asleep but I just can't get to sleep)..... I wake up crying and shaking...I have no motivation to get out of bed.... I am happy one second and Niagara' falls the next.... I have severe vertigo almost constantly.... I feel like an insane hyperchondriac
my GP keeps increasing my meds.... I see a psychologist.... but I don't feel like any of it is making a difference.... I feel like no one understands me.... like I am speaking some foreign language
I am hoping now I have quit my toxic job I might be able to find the real me again and move on.... but only time will tell

Re: First time
@Lostandalone you've quit that toxic job? Well done! I know that was a huge battle for you.
I'm sorry though that you are feeling like you described...I really hope the increased meds and the psychologist start to help soon.

@Lostandalone And @NatureLover
@I'm just wondering how long have us been this way
I'm in such desperation to get better and nothing I do helps
I honestly don't know how people suffer like this
Is there anything you have done or tried that has helped

Re: First time
What helped? Multi-vitamins; a new psychiatrist who changed my anti-depressant to a stronger one with a higher dose; starting a long-term sleeping tablet; and talk therapy.
I really hope you get some improvement soon, @Shine32 .

Re: First time
Thank you @NatureLover
@I've changed psychiatrist and changed medication but haven't had any changes I actually feel so numb that I can't express myself or how I feel
I don't recall feeling that way before
