Re: Sharing my life with Ms Sophie (Bipolar II)

@Sophie1, is Ms S aware of her cycles? Or does she think all is normal when she's in the middle of it?

SH is hard. 😞 Too many people try to call it out as "attention seeking", but how does that work when the person's keeping it secret?
All the best with settling into work. That's one of the other hard things- keeping up the "normal" at those times when the home background situation is anything but...

Re: Sharing my life with Ms Sophie (Bipolar II)

@Smc @Shaz51 @Former-Member @Determined @outlander

just got back from psychiatrist and he said MsS was having a mixed mood episode and added an anti-manic medication at a small dose to start with - anxious how this will work and how she will react and feel tomorrow .. also anxious about work - my manager hasn’t been very supportive and apparently told a co worker today I ‘need to consider working part time ‘ ... this made me furious - we cant afford for me to be part time due to cost of medications and therapy appts etc ... I feel angry really angry as I work my butt off for the company and hoped for support not judgement and assumption about what I need ... I don’t think people understand mental illness is not a choice and it never goes away or gets better because someone works part time - grrrr

Re: Sharing my life with Ms Sophie (Bipolar II)

 @Sophie1 that is tough re: work.  Would Ms S qualify for DSP? Whilst I still need to work and due to my income the $ paid to Mr D for DSP is minimal, the discounts on meds and other things made a huge difference to us.

Checking in @Sophie1

Re: Sharing my life with Ms Sophie (Bipolar II)

Hi @Former-Member  thx for checking in - life is tough at the moment - overwhelmed with work and MsS migraines and MsS adjusting to new meds ... I feel the weight of the world right now and teary and angry - a difficult mix when trying to hold a job down

Re: Sharing my life with Ms Sophie (Bipolar II)

Re: Sharing my life with Ms Sophie (Bipolar II)

Trust you can get a little R & R this weekend @Sophie1

Re: Sharing my life with Ms Sophie (Bipolar II)

Hi @Former-Member and others who sent kind thoughts - work has been trying - with late nights and extra weekend work - will get tomorrow off tho so can’t wait for that - MsS is still headachey world but working thru motions of going to see a pain specialist ... I’m exhausted and trying to fall asleep but brain buzzing - been rough at work with some   Conflict to do with a difficult Co worker and the unavoidable confrontations to resolve it on their way next week urghhhh ... so hard as it won’t go away and must be dealt with as it’s upsetting me and a few others in team and it’s time to deal directly with the issues - I just can’t continue being treated the way this person treats me - I’ve never felt like this before - fighting to do my job is not normal
