There's something so therapeutic about patting a cat! Despite the fact that she's the one purring - I always feel that I get much more out of it than she does!
I'm glad you're looking after yourself and feeling comforted.

Wow.... my whole message just got rejected and deleted.... 😞
Don't use nicknames for cats.
Thanks @Appleblossom and @Crazy_Bug_Lady for your input. I've decided that I will be upfront about my MI, but I'm still thinking about whether to mention it at the interview or not. The place I have an interview for is distantly associated with mental health, so in theory they should have an understanding of mental illness. I just feel I need to justify in the interview why I wasn't as good at my last position as I would have liked. But then I'm faced with the dilemma of it looking like I can't do this position...... I think I might wait and see what my gut feeling is......
I also spoke to my psych and she said some of my memory problems could in part be due to one of my meds and we're decreasing it to see if that helps.
And @Appleblossom, I actually used to work in disability services for the government. And I did not come out of that role thinking that the government actually wanted to *help* people, more that they were interested in ticking boxes to make it look like they were helping people. Ideally I would love to work in that area of health and be able to effect change and produce useful outcomes for individuals. But, some positive changes have been made since I last worked in the public service.
@BeHappy, my cat never fails to make me feel better. At the moment because I am awake (insomnia) she seems to think that it's play time. No, silly kitten. It is sleep time. 😞

Hi @Former-Member
Your psych is right. Anti anxiety and depression medication can play havoc with your memory.
I have been going through this for the past few months and have felt like I'm going mad. I couldn't remember a damn thing and it was really scaring me. I am nearly off my anti anxiety meds, thank goodness but I'm taking a lot of differend vitamins and minerals to help me cope. This was all prescribed by the naturapath I'm seeing.
I have found a great improvement in my memory from taking a product called Cognisense, made by Othoplex. It's a powder that you just mix into water and take twice a day.
It has really helped me with my memory problems and I noticed a diference in just a few weeks. It has really brought my clarity back. It's not the cheapest product on the market but I think it has been worth every cent.
I don't know if you can order it online directly. If you can't you should be able to go to your local health food store and get them to order it for you.
Here is a link describing the product in more detail: http://www.woolcotthealth.com.au/shop/product/cognisense_powder_150g/550
Might be worth a try for you too.

Yes @Former-Member I know about box ticking types and you might well be better at the job than those currently in.. at the moment all I can do is keep putting out with some sense of self repect and respect of "other" and hope some good will come of it.
Good luck
