Re: Workplace Problems

Exactly Rosie. I obviously want more understanding of MI. I have had no end of trouble with management simply from a lack of understanding.
I have previously asked that we as a workplace participate in a mental health program thing, so I figure this meeting (whenever it happens) is a good time to bring it up.
Every workplace has an OHS officer that attends courses and learns how to treat physical problems, why not mental illness too??

Re: Workplace Problems

Hey @Crazy_Bug_Lady,
Are you able to bring an advocate with you to any of your work/hr meetings?
When I had a bullying issue years ago, I was supported by our he manager to be the mediator between myself and my manager. It was very productive.
Are you able to call Sane as Sane seems to have a role in workplace education..and if you can get advocacy support through a peak consumer body that might be helpful too. In Victoria we have VMIAC Victorian mental illness awareness council. Maybe they can refer you to your peak body wherever you live. www.vmiac.gov.au

@Alessandra1992 you are like an oracle of knowledge - great suggestions. Smiley Happy

Re: Workplace Problems

Oracle? Who me? No way hozay, just sharing what has been shared with me!!

Re: Workplace Problems

Haha @Alessandra1992, perhaps oracles get their knowledge from others too, then they pass it on, just like you. Smiley Wink
