Possible comorbidity

I have just recently been discharged from hospital after receiving ECT therapy for a depressive episode however I am now confused as my discharge summary doesn’t have bipolar as the main diagnoses but depression with complications from borderline personality disorder. It does state bipolar in the summary as being one of many comorbidities but I’m totally confused. Am I now just a walking diagnostic statistics manual? Will I ever be able to manage my conditions and live a full and rewarding life? What do I do now and what treatment is available?

Re: Possible comorbidity

@Shellie  they may have not decided between bipolar and BPD as the two are often confused and misdiagnosed. you can also have both. honestly the treatment options dont change that much unless it is BPD then you are likely to benifit more from things like DBT than meds and such but really as lond as the doctors know of your symptoms the actual lable doesnt make much of a difference to treatment.
