Re: Flutterbug9’s space

Pain in my thumbs is due to osteoarthritis (OA) @tyme

I have thickened knuckles in both thumbs, both index and middle fingers due to OA.  I’ve also got OA in one knee, my entire spine, right shoulder.  I suspect I’ve got OA in left shoulder also.

due to some physical health conditions, there is almost no meds I can be given to help with pain or inflammation.  Options that Pain Management can give me could see me in hospital twice a year for entire week, 2 day stays and 4 over night stays every year for rest of my life. No guarantee any of these will assist with pain reduction.

Im too young to qualify for assistance at home.  To have any assistance at home I’ve got to pay 100% of costs charged by private companies.

Re: Flutterbug9’s space

@Flutterbug9  Hello lovely how are you?

Im sorry you’re in pain and can’t have the pain meds due to physical health conditions.

How is your shoulder?

I’ve been sick too. It’s been rough. I can relate to how you are feeling and I’m sending you healing and lots of better times ahead too.

Re: Flutterbug9’s space

Hi @Cuddlebear

pain in both shoulders varies from day to day.

ultrasound and X-rays done this morning of my left shoulder and both hands.  I’m feeling frustrated at times as I don’t know what I can do that isn’t going to increase the pain or risk increasing the size of the tear.

sorry to hear you have not been well and are going through rough patch.  Thinking of you and sending lots of hugs 🤗🤗

Re: Flutterbug9’s space

I’m sorry you’ve got pain in both shoulders. Living in pain is terribly hard. I’m here and I do care about how you are.

it’s good you got x rays and ultra sounds today I really hope they provide some answers that can help. How long do you think results will take? Sending lots of love and hugs right back at you.

Yes I’m in constant panic anxiety and distress. I cannot calm at all. Thank you for the kind words and hugs. Really needing them today.

Re: Flutterbug9’s space

Results of ultrasound and X-ray estimate to be with my GP in 2 weeks.  this time my GP has said they will phone me with the results @Cuddlebear

ultrasound that my GP requested at start of May, based on my comment of I think it might be bursitis, they never phoned me after getting the results that showed the small tear.  It could have been approx 2 mths after my GP getting the results that I would have had my regular 3mthly appointment with my GP.  Even a few days ago when I saw my GP I was not advised of things to avoid or things that are ok to do.

I have post procedure review in July with my pain management Dr who actually wanted the scans done.  I’m looking forward to seeing her and hearing what info she has

I don’t know if I’ve used my arm too much or is only due to the tear (or a combination), what I do know is right arm and hand feeling bit weaker today

procedure this morning went well and I only had short wait prior to being taken to theatre.

Ive had 3 different types of pain relief medication injected into my right shoulder.  Currently occasional stab of pain, not much though.  Shoulder feels stiff and numb.  Nurses advised numb feeling usually wears off after 3 to 4 hours.

Re: Flutterbug9’s space

@Flutterbug9 glad to hear the procedure went well this morning and that you only had a short wait.

Hoping it goes ok once the numb feeling starts to wear off. Thinking of you sweetheart ❤️.

Re: Flutterbug9’s space

Re: Flutterbug9’s space

@Flutterbug9  Hello how are you? I’m so glad procedure went well. That’s a huge relief. I’m hoping that you get relief now that you’ve had. It’s good you’ve got some pain relief too after the procedure.

Please let us know if you want to how you are going.

First step from here is waiting on results of scans taken of my left shoulder and both hands and my gp to advise me what those outcomes are.

I have already requested to be referred to one specific orthopaedic surgery for my hands.  Need outcome of X-rays first.

review with pain management Dr mid next month for shoulder and lower spine

atm my mind is still trying to find even one spot of level ground.  2 psychiatrist appointments paid for in one fortnight and no Medicare rebate received as yet for the first one is biting into the finances.

Info from relative who drove me home from the hospital about his own health is sitting very heavy on my mind.  Same health condition that ended my mums life.  In addition, it appears he may have early signs dementia, he is only 62.

following recommendation from a neighbour, tonight I have started making enquiries about possibly lodging NDIS claim

feeling very overwhelmed and emotionally drowning.  Can Feel that I want to cry but nothing happens.
