Matthew 5:9 (NIV)
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God."
Context
This is the seventh of the Beatitudes in Jesus' famous sermon known as the Gospel of Matthew. The Beatitudes describe the character and values of those who belong to God's kingdom.
Key Greek Words
Peacemakers (eirēnopoioi)
This word appears only here in the New Testament.
It doesn't mean simply avoiding conflict or keeping quiet.
It means actively working to bring reconciliation, healing, and harmony where there is division.
A peacemaker is not someone who pretends problems don't exist. Rather, they seek to restore relationships, encourage understanding, and help bring people closer to God and one another.
Children (sons) of God (huioi Theou)
In Jewish thought, a "son" often meant someone who shared the character of another.
Jesus is saying that those who make peace reflect God's own nature and therefore show themselves to be His children.
Biblical Summary
God is the great peacemaker. Through Christ, God reconciles people to Himself and to each other. When believers work for peace—with wisdom, truth, mercy, and love—they reflect the heart of their Father.
This verse is not a promise that peacemakers will always be liked. In fact, making peace sometimes requires difficult conversations, forgiveness, humility, and courage. But Jesus says such people are blessed because they are acting in a way that resembles God Himself. 🙏

@Realness Sorry to hear of your struggle, i relate very much to getting lost, i surely have been, each psychoses again. Mentally ill is no fun.
@ENKELI @heartathome @Shaz51 @tyme
Nevertheless the Lord found me in some of my worst mental states. States which had been ruled by the trauma lies had me suffer in the first place. To meet Jesus where we are at our worst and most wretched is wonderful beyond words. For He lists up the broken hearted, restores us where we are in need of repair, renews us where we were always overcome before.
Jesus has taught me bottom up literally 21 years ago. And although illness has not gone away, but only become more complex the hurts it caused me and my family, He remained faithful and true. Always ready when i'm ready to let go of life ruled by lies. It can be so hard when we think we are saved but are hurting our salvation. When that happens it is time to kneel before His Throne and admit life has us down no matter the trying and goodwill other times.
i know such can be hard lessons learned but are the most valuable in the end. Faith in Jesus tested by fire is worth its while mentally ill. i'm sure you also know that first hand.🤗

Matthew 5:10 says:
“Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
This is the eighth Beatitude. Jesus is saying that living faithfully, doing what is right, and following God's ways will not always be easy. Sometimes people face criticism, rejection, or hardship because they choose integrity, truth, mercy, or faithfulness.
The blessing is not in the suffering itself, but in remaining faithful to what is right. Jesus assures those people that they belong to God's kingdom and are seen and valued by Him. 💚
Lord, help me to stand firm in what is right, even when it is difficult. Give me courage, humility, and peace, knowing that You are with me. 🙏

Good to see you all here, posting away and supporting each other.
I am learning about some faith based peer support at the moment. I need it as well. My vulnerability is high.
Sorry I haven't logged on. I had computer issues.
Walking quietly
Somehow I managed to play the organ on Sunday, but I am not sure how long I can keep going. Things are not good for my son, I dont seem to be able to help, and am beside myself with worry for him.
I give praise for every good thing that happens.

@Appleblossom Said a prayer for you my dear. Life is hard when we see our children out of reach but not well. Such is really hard.
@heartathome @ENKELI @tyme @Realness
Pretty down today. luckily not rock bottom but enough to feel disconnected from Jesus, which is like a death sentence dealing wisely my states.
i struggled with some really strong suicidal ideation, which ended rather dramatic me full on angry with Jesus, yet Him meeting me there and telling me i had more life to live down there yet for me to break free from this state. Its been difficult to agree with Him about this.
Good things? Yes my voices have been right down since my last trauma memories hit, as well as the nausea, not gone but considerable less in intensity.
Chronically short on sleep down to less than 2 hours, broken up on full sleeping aids. For the negatives of the trauma memories is the sharp increase in my anxiety levels afterwards trying to process the intensity of the trauma.
And so i face my own judgements on myself The Word lived.
