@Taali a brief google description: Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy is a non-invasive, evidence based treatment that uses magnetic pulses to stimulate nerve cells in the brain.

@Taali No expert on this but i have been told it is a non-invasive form of therapy that uses magnetic pulses to stimulate nerve cells in the brain, primarily to treat major depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) when other treatments have failed.
@Jynx @MissGremlin @Nala2022 @Meowmy
i was told that i will have magnets placed on my headl where the brain signals which are over simulated are more deactivated while activate brain signals not activating are activated to some degree. So hopefully the depressive bouts become less crushing and my sleep will improve.
It has been placed on Medicare now for patients, like myself, who are medication intolerant or medications have only a minimum effect on. And is preferable to more E.C.T treatments where memory loss is another effect that comes along with the treatment. And last time took me a few years to fully recover from.

Goose 🪿 🪿 🪿 🪿
That's about as close as I get.
I care about all animals but I have a strange fear of birds feet.
@DownMoreThanUp @Jynx @MissGremlin @Bunniekins @Nala2022
Now that I've typed that I realise that I have 2 fears 😨....

I can hear you're feeling hopeful that it might help with both the depressive episodes and your sleep, I hope so for you too @DownMoreThanUp
It also makes sense that you'd be weighing it up against previous experiences with ECT, especially if recovery took a long time for you afterwards.
I hope the process gets underway soon and that it brings some relief for you. It sounds like you've been working really hard to explore different options and find something that might help

Aww, that's okay @Taali 💜
Fears can be funny things sometimes, they don't always make logical sense, but they're very real when you're the one experiencing them
